2020 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING CANCELED
Your board of directors have decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Membership Meeting rather than reschedule the meeting for later this year. The decision to cancel was based on the unknowns related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the preference to err on the side of caution when it comes to the safety of both the employee, the members and the public that might be attending the meeting.
The bylaws clearly state that the “failure to hold the annual meeting at the designated time shall not work a forfeiture or dissolution of the Cooperative”. Based on that clause and the opinion of our legal counsel, the board acted to cancel.
As a result of this action, the effective date of the reconstitution in director districts enacted by the board earlier this year will be postponed until the 2021 annual meeting. In addition, the election of directors from Districts 1, 4 and 7 scheduled for 2020 will be held in conjunction with the election of directors from Districts 3, 6 and 9 slated for the 2021 annual meeting. A date, time and location for the 2021 annual meeting will be determined in early 2021.
