Flip a switch and the lights come on. Behind this simple action is a complex network of people, power plants and transmission lines that work around the clock. Their mission: to ensure safe, affordable, reliable electricity flows to more than 130 member cooperatives in nine states.
Join us on the SEC Energy Tour – an opportunity for you to learn about your cooperative power supply system!Â
Trip Details:Â September 10 – 12, 2024
Tour the facilities, mines and generating units near Bismarck, North Dakota which produce the electricity you receive from Southeastern Electric Cooperative. A commercial bus will be used for transportation.
Tour stops include the East River Electric headquarters in Madison, the Terex manufacturing plant in Watertown, the Oahe Dam near Pierre and the Great Plains Synfuels Plant, Antelope Valley Station and Freedom Mine near Buelah, North Dakota.
Cost: $30 per attendee
Application deadline: Closed on August 15, 2024. Watch for details on the 2025 trip next year.
Members who have not attended past tours are given the first chance to participate. All other members will be placed on a standby list and will be contacted if openings become available.
