This year’s annual meeting theme of “Partners in Progress” highlights that as valued members of Southeastern Electric, our members are more than just an energy consumers – they are our partners in progress. Together, we’re powering homes, schools, farms, businesses and helping enable the growth of our communities.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing safe, reliable and affordable electric service, SEC continues to make investments in our distribution system and supporting technologies each year. Projects are carefully prioritized to improve reliability, to support the connection of new members and to reduce outages. In total, SEC invested approximately $16.5 million in the system last year. This enabled SEC to add or upgrade over 60 miles of electric line—ensuring the electric distribution system remains strong, resilient and ready for the future.

In 2024, Southeastern Electric continued its rapid membership growth, welcoming over 1,100 new members, marking the fourth consecutive year of adding more than 1,000 members annually. Along with growth in members served, a record number of megawatt hours (MWh) were sold in 2024 at over 811,000 MWh. This is a year-over-year increase of over 21,000 MWh or 2.7%. Fortunately, SEC’s load growth is diversified across residential, agriculture and commercial industries. Overall, 2024 was a good year for Southeastern Electric and we look forward to continuing to power the lives of our membership long into the future. Thank you to everyone that was able to participate in our 87th annual membership meeting.
